Beyond the Microphone: Why You Shouldn't Limit Your Future Husband to a Title
There is a single lady out there whose daily prayer goes something like this: "Lord, please let me marry a pastor, an apostle, an evangelist, a preacher... or at the very least, a pastor's kid." Especially those men standing right at the front of the church, serving faithfully every single Sunday. To her, the rest of us normal guys standing in the back do not even qualify to be on her radar. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having standards or personal preferences. In fact, knowing the kind of marriage you are praying for is both healthy and wise. Clarity in prayer is powerful. But here is a gentle reminder worth holding onto: do not become so fixed on a title that you miss the character. A title can sit on a mantle, but character is what lives with you in the living room when the Sunday service is over.
