There’s a saying that "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder." Let me tell you a story. There was a time I was single, and a lady posted her friend on her timeline. It was a photo from a prayer meeting. I was curious. So, naturally, I slid into her inbox.  You know how it goes, you start with the salutations, create a little rapport, then eventually get to the main agenda: “By the way, who is your friend in that photo? I’d like to get to know her.” The lady wasn't tagged. She wasn't mentioned. Nothing could lead me to her that's why the inbox was the only way. So I waited for the information.And waited.And waited...Still nothing came.  Then, sometime later, I came across another photo of the same lady posted by the samefriend. Mimi huyo mbio kwa inbox!  “Kindly, who is your friend? I’d really like to get to know her.” Again… nothing. About a year later, I found myself back in that inbox. This time, I was finally given her name but no profile details....

It is free but gives real and very expensive lessons, right from the environment we are in, people, failure, self, and even success carries it is own lessons. As I turn a year older, here are a few lessons I have been able to pick. 1. Nobody is coming to save you. At some point, you have to take responsibility for your own life. People may support you, advise you, pray for you and walk with you but there are battles you must decide to face yourself. 2. You can lose what you once thought you could never live without. Life will sometimes strip you of people, opportunities, possessions, relationships and things you deeply valued. Don't be dismayed. You can rebuild. As long as you don't give up, your story isn't over. 3. If you are willing to change, you are never truly stuck.
