INCREASE YOUR VISIBILITY AS A SINGLE PERSON.

Image
There’s a saying that "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder." Let me tell you a story. There was a time I was single, and a lady posted her friend on her timeline. It was a photo from a prayer meeting. I was curious. So, naturally, I slid into her inbox.  You know how it goes, you start with the salutations, create a little rapport, then eventually get to the main agenda: “By the way, who is your friend in that photo? I’d like to get to know her.” The lady wasn't tagged. She wasn't mentioned. Nothing could lead me to her that's why the inbox was the only way. So I waited for the information. And waited. And waited...Still nothing came.  Then, sometime later, I came across another photo of the same lady posted by the samefriend. Mimi huyo mbio kwa inbox!  “Kindly, who is your friend? I’d really like to get to know her.” Again… nothing. About a year later, I found myself back in that inbox. This time, I was finally given her name but no profile details....

15 THINGS I NOW KNOW ABOUT LIFE, LOVE, GOD & PURPOSE.

Image
Picture of Ashubwe Zadock Jebel One of the greatest schools is the school of life. It is free but gives real and very expensive lessons, right from the environment we are in, people, failure, self, and even success carries it is own lessons. As I turn a year older, here are a few lessons I have been able to pick. 1. Nobody is coming to save you. At some point, you have to take responsibility for your own life. People may support you, advise you, pray for you and walk with you but there are battles you must decide to face yourself. 2. You can lose what you once thought you could never live without. Life will sometimes strip you of people, opportunities, possessions, relationships and things you deeply valued. Don't be dismayed. You can rebuild. As long as you don't give up, your story isn't over. 3. If you are willing to change, you are never truly stuck. Sometimes the breakthrough isn't waiting for a change of circumstances; it's waiting for a change in ...

Beyond the Microphone: Why You Shouldn't Limit Your Future Husband to a Title

Image
There is a single lady out there whose daily prayer goes something like this: "Lord, please let me marry a pastor, an apostle, an evangelist, a preacher... or at the very least, a pastor's kid." Especially those men standing right at the front of the church, serving faithfully every single Sunday. To her, the rest of us normal guys standing in the back do not even qualify to be on her radar. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having standards or personal preferences. In fact, knowing the kind of marriage you are praying for is both healthy and wise. Clarity in prayer is powerful. But here is a gentle reminder worth holding onto: do not become so fixed on a title that you miss the character. A title can sit on a mantle, but character is what lives with you in the living room when the Sunday service is over. The Danger of Confusing Platform with Purpose It is easy to romanticize public ministry. We see a man standing behind a pulpit, speaking with conviction...

When Love Becomes Your Downfall: The Bitter Predicament That Almost Destroyed Me

Image
We often talk about love as if it’s a sanctuary—a safe harbor where the storms of life can’t reach us. We are taught to look for the person who makes our hearts race, who fulfills our checklists, and who makes us feel entirely safe. In 2013, I thought I found that person. I was on the cusp of finishing college, standing on the threshold of adulthood with a bright, untarnished future ahead of me. I had big dreams, a clean slate, and a heart wide open to the world. Then he walked into my life, and suddenly, the universe seemed to shift on its axis. He didn’t just meet my standards; he exceeded them. Everything about him clicked. The qualities I had quietly prayed for in a partner seemed to live naturally within him. He was attentive, charming, and deeply comforting. I remember those early days with painful clarity. Just the thought of him made my heart bubble and dance. It was an intoxicating, euphoric feeling—like a heart that had drunk its fill of fine wine and was completely satisfied...

What Do You Bring to the Table? A Balanced Perspective on Modern Relationships

Image
One question that has become increasingly common in today's dating conversations is this: "What do you bring to the table?" Depending on who asks it, this question can either spark a healthy discussion or ignite a heated debate. Some people ask it out of genuine curiosity because they want to understand what their potential partner will contribute to the relationship. Others ask it as a way of measuring someone's worth, almost like a job interview. The truth is, there is nothing wrong with asking what someone brings into a relationship. Every healthy relationship should involve two people who are willing to contribute emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and practically. However, before we ask that question, we should also remember that relationships are never one-sided. Both people are making investments and sacrifices that deserve recognition. Let us dive into some reality checks. A Woman Is Also Looking for Value Just as many men desire a woman who will ...

Strategic Positioning for Love as a Single Mother: Knowing Your Non-Negotiable Self-Worth

Image
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." — Proverbs 4:23 Being a single mother comes with a unique blend of strength, sacrifice, and responsibility. Every day, you make decisions that affect not only your future but also the lives of your children. When it comes to dating, this reality means you cannot afford to approach relationships carelessly. Unfortunately, many single mothers enter the dating world carrying invisible burdens. Some battle rejection from previous relationships. Others wrestle with guilt, fear, or the belief that their opportunities for love have somehow diminished because they have children. That belief is one of the greatest lies you can believe. Your value did not decrease because your relationship status changed. Your worth is not measured by your past, your age, or whether you have children. Your worth comes from God, who created you with dignity and purpose. Healthy relationships begin with healthy sel...

GUARD YOUR HEART, SIS.

Image
As a single woman, one of the most important things you can learn is how to guard your heart. Not because love is dangerous. Not because every man is bad. Not because you should become cold, suspicious, or emotionally unavailable. But because your heart is valuable. The Bible says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 Sometimes we give access to our hearts long before someone has earned the responsibility of holding them. A few sweet messages. A little attention. Late-night calls. “Good morning, beautiful.” A few compliments. A couple of dates. And suddenly, we've emotionally married someone who has never actually asked us to be his girlfriend. Sis, attention is not commitment. Chemistry is not character. Promises are not consistency. And potential is not a relationship. Guard your heart by learning to observe before you attach. Don't fall in love with what someone could become. Pay attention to who they are right ...

The Waiting Room: Why Your Season of Singleness Is Not a Punishment

Image
Every hospital has a waiting room. People sit there, restless, checking their phones, glancing at the door every few minutes, hoping their name gets called next. Nobody enjoys the waiting room. But here's what's also true — nobody skips it either. You don't get to the doctor without first passing through it. Your season of singleness is a waiting room. And I need you to hear this clearly today: it is not a punishment. It is a preparation. So many singles carry this quiet, aching belief that if they were "good enough," "pretty enough," "spiritual enough," they would already be married by now. They look around at friends getting engaged, siblings having babies, and a lie creeps in: something is wrong with me. Nothing is wrong with you. You are simply in a different room, on a different timeline, being prepared for a different assignment. Here's what I've come to understand about the waiting room: It reveals what you actually b...

5 Signs Someone Is Spiritually Manipulating You in the Name of Love

Image
There's a special kind of hurt that comes from being manipulated using scripture. It doesn't feel like abuse in the moment — it feels like conviction. It feels like maybe you're the problem, maybe you're not submitted enough, maybe you're not praying hard enough, maybe you're the one lacking faith. I want to talk about this plainly today, because too many good, faith-filled people are being controlled and calling it "covenant." 1. They quote scripture to shut down your concerns, not to address them. You raise a genuine issue — he's disrespecting your boundaries, or she's constantly changing plans without consulting you — and instead of a real conversation, you get a verse thrown at you. "The Bible says wives submit." "The Bible says love is patient." Used this way, scripture stops being a guide and becomes a weapon to end the discussion before it starts. 2. They claim direct access to "what God told them abo...

10 SIGNS YOU'RE FALLING IN LOVE WITH POTENTIAL INSTEAD OF THE PERSON

Image
Love has a beautiful way of making us hopeful. It helps us see possibilities, dream about the future, and believe that people can grow. While hope is a wonderful gift, it can also become dangerous when we begin loving who someone could become instead of accepting who they are today. Many relationships don't fail because love was absent. They fail because one partner was dating a future version of the other that never actually existed. What Does It Mean to Love Someone's Potential? Loving someone's potential means becoming emotionally attached to the idea of who they might become rather than who they consistently show themselves to be. You tell yourself: "Once they mature..." "When they get a stable job..." "After marriage they'll change..." "God will fix this." Growth is possible. People change. But healthy relationships are built on today's reality, not tomorrow's promises. Ten Signs You're Dating Potentia...

What a Healthy Relationship Is Really About

Image
The world has given us many wrong definitions of love. Some believe a relationship is successful because the couple looks attractive together. Others believe happiness begins when they find someone wealthy, influential, or socially admired. But appearances fade. Money comes and goes. Status changes. What remains is character. A healthy relationship is not about having the most handsome boyfriend or the most beautiful girlfriend. It is not about finding a perfect person because no such person exists. Instead, it is about finding someone who chooses to love you despite your imperfections—and someone you are equally willing to love despite theirs. True love is found in respect. It is found in kindness. It is found in patience. It is found in loyalty. Choose someone who values you. Someone who listens to you. Someone who cares for you within their ability. Someone who understands your strengths without ignoring your weaknesses. Choose someone who is proud to stand beside you in...

He Never Loved Her—He Only Wanted Her Body

Image
Modern dating has become painfully complicated. Too often, what is called love is nothing more than pursuit without commitment, affection without responsibility, and pleasure without accountability. Many hearts have been broken by people who never intended to stay. This story is for every man who pursues a woman simply to satisfy his desires. She told you she had a boyfriend. She made it clear that she wasn't interested. She ignored your calls. You kept calling. She declined your messages. You sent longer ones. She blocked your number. You found another way to reach her. Eventually, she answered—not because she loved you, but because she felt sorry for you. You showered her with compliments. She asked you to stop. You didn't. Days became weeks. Weeks became months. Little by little, her guard came down. She laughed at your jokes. She smiled when you called. She slowly began believing your words. Eventually, she believed you loved her. You invited her to your house. ...

The Most Expensive Decision She Ever Made

Image
Race was an exceptional clinician—one of the most respected orthopedic surgeons in her region. While still in her early thirties, she had already achieved what many people spend a lifetime pursuing. She had bought her dream home through years of discipline and sacrifice. She owned several real estate investments, was preparing to launch her own company, and had built an admirable career.  She was organized, focused, and determined. She also had a generous heart. She took care of her parents, supported her siblings, and never forgot where she came from.  I still remember accompanying her on one of the vacations she organized for her parents to one of the world's most beautiful destinations. It was her way of saying, "Thank you for believing in me." Their joy was indescribable. The years of sacrifice they had made to educate their daughter were finally bearing fruit. By every measurable standard, Race was successful. Yet there was one area of her life that remai...

5 WAYS YOUR EX SPOILS & SABOTAGES YOUR NEW RELATIONSHIP

Image
Giving your ex a space in your life after a break up might not end up well. Your new relationship means that you emotionally and physically split up with your ex. You need to concentrate on futuristic things and never allow past experiences with your ex detach you from your new soulmate. This is how involvement with your ex devastates your current relationship: 1. Through your phone Your ex either calls or send text messages with intentions of knowing how you are moving on. When your current partner gets to know that you are in contact with your ex, he/she might think that you are double-dealing them and question your commitment to him/her. Issues of mistrust begin and what follows is a breakup which pains even more. 2. Through your friends Your ex may employ techniques to reach you through your friends. They are good at sugarcoating lies and persuading your friends who will share the news with you and probably your partner. Upon reaching your partner, the news will make hi...
