INCREASE YOUR VISIBILITY AS A SINGLE PERSON.

Image
There’s a saying that "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder." Let me tell you a story. There was a time I was single, and a lady posted her friend on her timeline. It was a photo from a prayer meeting. I was curious. So, naturally, I slid into her inbox.  You know how it goes, you start with the salutations, create a little rapport, then eventually get to the main agenda: “By the way, who is your friend in that photo? I’d like to get to know her.” The lady wasn't tagged. She wasn't mentioned. Nothing could lead me to her that's why the inbox was the only way. So I waited for the information. And waited. And waited...Still nothing came.  Then, sometime later, I came across another photo of the same lady posted by the samefriend. Mimi huyo mbio kwa inbox!  “Kindly, who is your friend? I’d really like to get to know her.” Again… nothing. About a year later, I found myself back in that inbox. This time, I was finally given her name but no profile details....

15 THINGS I NOW KNOW ABOUT LIFE, LOVE, GOD & PURPOSE.

Image
Picture of Ashubwe Zadock Jebel One of the greatest schools is the school of life. It is free but gives real and very expensive lessons, right from the environment we are in, people, failure, self, and even success carries it is own lessons. As I turn a year older, here are a few lessons I have been able to pick. 1. Nobody is coming to save you. At some point, you have to take responsibility for your own life. People may support you, advise you, pray for you and walk with you but there are battles you must decide to face yourself. 2. You can lose what you once thought you could never live without. Life will sometimes strip you of people, opportunities, possessions, relationships and things you deeply valued. Don't be dismayed. You can rebuild. As long as you don't give up, your story isn't over. 3. If you are willing to change, you are never truly stuck. Sometimes the breakthrough isn't waiting for a change of circumstances; it's waiting for a change in ...

Relationships Don’t Have to Be That Complicated: What a Week of Intentionality Taught Me

Image
We have all heard the phrase: “Relationships are hard work.” We hear it in podcast episodes, read it in self-help books, and repeat it to ourselves when things get rocky. And to a large degree, it’s true. Bringing two distinct lives together under one shared narrative is no small feat. Yet, somewhere along the line, we seem to have conflated "hard work" with "unnecessary complexity." We have started treating everyday interactions like high-stakes tactical chess matches, dissecting every text, tone, and pause for hidden meaning. I’ve been pondering this a lot lately. About a week ago, I stumbled upon a Facebook page called Collectively Married . Out of curiosity, I started watching the reels and scrolling through the feed. Despite its simple bio, the page quickly proved to be a goldmine of wisdom—a refreshingly grounded space for anyone who wants to approach love with genuine intentionality. Immersing myself in that content served as a gentle, much-needed wake-up cal...

Sexual Purity for Teens and Young Adults: A Biblical Perspective

Image
Sexual purity is more than avoiding sex. It is learning to honor God with your body, your mind, your relationships, and your choices. For teenagers and young adults, navigating sexuality can be difficult. We live in a culture where sexual content is everywhere. Movies, music, social media, advertisements, conversations, dating apps, and even casual jokes can normalize sexual activity and make abstinence appear outdated, unrealistic, or impossible. Yet the Bible presents a different vision. Biblical sexual purity is not rooted in fear, shame, or the idea that sex is dirty. Rather, Scripture presents sexual intimacy as something valuable and powerful that belongs within the covenant of marriage. For a young person seeking to follow Christ, choosing sexual purity is therefore not about missing out on life. It is about learning to live according to God's design. What Does Sexual Purity Mean? Sexual purity involves more than simply remaining a virgin. It includes how we thin...

The Loneliness of Waiting: Encouragement for Singles Trusting God for Marriage

Image
Waiting is rarely easy. Especially when birthdays pass. Friends get married. Family members keep asking uncomfortable questions. Wedding invitations become more frequent than birthday invitations. And social media constantly reminds you that everyone else seems to be moving forward. If you've ever wondered whether God has forgotten you, you're not alone. Waiting Doesn't Mean You're Behind One of the biggest lies culture tells singles is that marriage is the finish line. It isn't. Marriage is a calling. Singleness is also a calling for its season. Neither determines your worth. Your identity was established long before anyone fell in love with you. You are valuable because you belong to God. Comparison Steals Joy Someone else's timeline isn't your assignment. God writes different stories for different people. Some marry at twenty-three. Others at thirty-five. Others much later. Comparison only creates unnecessary frustration. Celebrate others whil...

Why Some Relationships Feel One-Sided (And How to Know When It's Time to Walk Away)

Image
One of the most painful experiences in love is realizing you're the only one carrying the relationship. You're always checking in. You're always apologizing. You're always making sacrifices. You're always fighting to keep something alive while the other person simply exists within it. Eventually you begin asking yourself: "Am I asking for too much?" The answer may surprise you. Healthy Love Is Mutual No relationship will ever be perfectly balanced every single day. Life happens. People get tired. Responsibilities increase. However, healthy relationships naturally move toward mutual effort. When one person consistently gives while the other consistently receives, resentment eventually replaces affection. Signs You're Carrying the Relationship Alone You always initiate conversations. You're the first to apologize. You plan every meeting. You keep the communication alive. You remember important dates. You pray for the relationship while th...

10 SIGNS YOU'RE FALLING IN LOVE WITH POTENTIAL INSTEAD OF THE PERSON

Image
Love has a beautiful way of making us hopeful. It helps us see possibilities, dream about the future, and believe that people can grow. While hope is a wonderful gift, it can also become dangerous when we begin loving who someone could become instead of accepting who they are today. Many relationships don't fail because love was absent. They fail because one partner was dating a future version of the other that never actually existed. What Does It Mean to Love Someone's Potential? Loving someone's potential means becoming emotionally attached to the idea of who they might become rather than who they consistently show themselves to be. You tell yourself: "Once they mature..." "When they get a stable job..." "After marriage they'll change..." "God will fix this." Growth is possible. People change. But healthy relationships are built on today's reality, not tomorrow's promises. Ten Signs You're Dating Potentia...

The Most Expensive Decision She Ever Made

Image
Race was an exceptional clinician—one of the most respected orthopedic surgeons in her region. While still in her early thirties, she had already achieved what many people spend a lifetime pursuing. She had bought her dream home through years of discipline and sacrifice. She owned several real estate investments, was preparing to launch her own company, and had built an admirable career.  She was organized, focused, and determined. She also had a generous heart. She took care of her parents, supported her siblings, and never forgot where she came from.  I still remember accompanying her on one of the vacations she organized for her parents to one of the world's most beautiful destinations. It was her way of saying, "Thank you for believing in me." Their joy was indescribable. The years of sacrifice they had made to educate their daughter were finally bearing fruit. By every measurable standard, Race was successful. Yet there was one area of her life that remai...

5 WAYS YOUR EX SPOILS & SABOTAGES YOUR NEW RELATIONSHIP

Image
Giving your ex a space in your life after a break up might not end up well. Your new relationship means that you emotionally and physically split up with your ex. You need to concentrate on futuristic things and never allow past experiences with your ex detach you from your new soulmate. This is how involvement with your ex devastates your current relationship: 1. Through your phone Your ex either calls or send text messages with intentions of knowing how you are moving on. When your current partner gets to know that you are in contact with your ex, he/she might think that you are double-dealing them and question your commitment to him/her. Issues of mistrust begin and what follows is a breakup which pains even more. 2. Through your friends Your ex may employ techniques to reach you through your friends. They are good at sugarcoating lies and persuading your friends who will share the news with you and probably your partner. Upon reaching your partner, the news will make hi...
